Why Private Workspaces Are a Growing Trend

Written by C. Brown | 06/01/2019

What type of workspace is optimal? On one end of the spectrum is a noisy café with an overcrowded, public WiFi connection and on the other end is a small suite with a view of the San Francisco Bay for $79 per square foot. In the middle are flexible term private workspaces with shared services.

Trending: Private Workspaces

Shared office space isn’t a new concept, but it’s experiencing a kind of metamorphosis. Some years ago, temporary office space was characterized as a big room with long tables where hipsters sat with Beats clipped to their heads and cardboard cups of coffee at their elbows.

Some temporary office space still looks like that today. However, a new, upscale version of shared office space has evolved, and it has taken the form of private workspaces.

You can find Premier Workspaces locations in dozens of cities throughout the U.S., and although each space is unique, they all offer essentially the same thing: a place to work in peace and quiet with minimal distractions. Here, you don’t pay for a stool at a counter looking out onto the sidewalk where people are walking dogs and alighting from buses.

We offer many variations of private office workspaces. You can rent a big office or a small office, with a window or without. While we don’t warehouse our clients at long tables, we do offer affordable, semi-private spaces that are big enough for a few workers to share.

Saves Money, No Commitment

This type of arrangement offers you the best of both worlds. You may not be willing, ready, or able to lease your own office space. It’s expensive and it’s a big commitment. For newer companies, it’s much safer to rent temporary office space.

Build up your business without the added distraction of a dreaded monthly lease payment hanging over your head for 5 to 7 years. You can relax, knowing that you can downsize your private workspace or move out altogether whenever you want.

For small businesses, leasing space may never be the right solution. Not all small-business owners want their businesses to grow into mammoth corporations. Lawyers, accountants, financial planners, and dozens of other small-business owners want to the businesses to stay just that way: small. Renting a private workspace is the perfect solution.

With a private workspace, not only do you save money by not committing to a long-term lease, you don’t have to invest in office furniture or supplies. Everything is already ready and waiting for you. All you have to do is walk in and plug in your laptop.

Stay in the Loop

Another advantage of renting a private workspace is the networking and camaraderie.

Oftentimes when you look for a space to lease, you find that the only space you can afford is in a building with other tenants you may have little in common with or who may not be any use to you.

When you rent private office space in a shared environment, you can afford better quarters and meet other professionals in a relaxed, convivial setting. These are the types of people you may come to know and learn from, and eventually even maybe partner with to develop a new client base.

Everything Is Included in a Private Workspace

Another advantage of shared private office space is all the conveniences that come with the facility. We mentioned the furniture and supplies earlier, but also important are the kitchen, break room, lobby, conference rooms, and restrooms. Not all leased office space comes with kitchen facilities, but all Premier Workspaces do. Sink, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, tables and chairs — it’s all included.

With traditional leased office space, you likely won’t have the luxury of making part of it into a break room. You and your employees (if you have any), will likely be relegated to eating at your desks. If you’re not scrupulously clean, this could lead to a pest problem.

This brings us to our next point: cleaning services. While all offices have bathroom facilities, most often everyone on the floor has to share. If the facilities are run down, not reliably stocked with supplies or adequately kept clean, it could make for a seriously unpleasant work environment.

When you rent private office space, you know the entire premises will be cleaned every night.

These advantages are just some of the reasons small-business owners are opting for private workspaces more often these days than long-term leases. Contact Premier Workspaces today to find out more about our private workspaces.
