Premier Workspaces is proud to celebrate our 20th anniversary! To commemorate this exciting milestone, we’re reflecting on where we started and where we’re headed next.
Humble beginnings and steady growth
Premier Workspaces was founded in 2002 in Irvine, CA as Premier Business Centers. Our goal then was the same as it is now — to provide flexible workspaces to growing businesses.
“When we opened our doors 20 years ago, the landscape was completely different,” says Jeff Reinstein, CEO. “I attribute our anniversary this year to our strong business model, dedicated team, and incredible clients.”
One of Premier Business Centers' very first offices was located in Huntington Beach, and is still in use today (though, of course, it’s been updated since its inception). In fact, of our original 9 locations, we are still operating 8 of them — and some of our clients have been at our centers longer than we’ve had our current name!
Since 2002, we’ve expanded to over 85 locations and counting, empowering businesses to expand into new areas, providing workspace for remote employees, and supporting the shift toward the emerging hub-and-spoke office model. As of April 2022, Premier Workspaces manages over 1.5 million square feet of workspace in 12 states (plus the District of Columbia), 21 counties, and 53 cities.
Over the years, we’ve managed workspaces of all sizes, from 6,000 square feet to 53,692 square feet.
Challenges and resilience
The past 20 years have brought their share of challenges, and it’s no secret that the COVID-19 pandemic was the biggest one of all.
The commercial real estate landscape transformed overnight as companies adjusted to the “new normal” of remote and hybrid work. Even as other coworking spaces and commercial real estate operations closed, Premier Workspaces stayed strong by providing clients with safe, flexible office solutions, including private offices, team spaces, serviced meeting rooms, virtual office plans, and more.

Amy Fuller, SVP of Sales & Marketing, is proud of how the Premier Workspaces team has handled the challenges of the past few years. “We quickly responded to the pandemic with a plan that protected the health and safety of our employees, clients, and guests,” she says.
By putting increased focus on flexible workspaces to meet demand, Premier Workspaces has survived — and thrived — during the pandemic. “Flexible workspaces are a natural fit for the new normal,” Fuller says, “and we’re well-equipped to meet the moment with beautiful, white-labeled space that’s designed to represent clients well.”
“We overcame remarkable challenges, including the Great Recession and the pandemic, because our focus has always been on profitability,” Reinstein adds. “This allows us to grow in an efficient, organic way that’s entirely sustainable and self-funded.”
We’re just getting started — here’s to 20 more!
Even as we celebrate this important milestone, we’re looking toward the future.
Director of Real Estate Michael Pollack is optimistic about the years to come. “Based on current trends, demand for flexible workspace will only increase,” he says. “That’s why we’re a preferred partner of top landlords across the country — our model allows them to easily implement flexible workspaces in their existing projects and new developments.”
No matter what challenges lie ahead, Premier Workspaces is committed to providing safe, amenitized, flexible workspaces for businesses of all sizes, from individuals to enterprise companies. We’re confident about our ability to adapt to the evolving needs of working professionals nationwide, and as we head into the next chapter, we’re excited to offer a balanced portfolio of products designed for the new working world.
